Primary Ovarian Insufficiency: Phenotype and Optimal Treatment

Primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) is an enigmatic condition that affects 1/10,000 women by the age of 20 and is known as early menopause. POI is characterized by estrogen deficiency among other hormonal abnormalities that resemble menopause, and there is no cure.

PBF partnered with Cincinnati Children’s on this pilot study to study the effect of estrogen patches to treat POI in adolescent patients. We are proud to have supported this groundbreaking work to improve outcomes for patients with this rare disorder.
