A Special Thank You

Dr. Kathleen Novicki, PT, DPT, PRPC

Dr. Kathleen Novicki has been a beacon of knowledge and hard work within the PBF medical board, providing core education over her five-year tenure. She is an invaluable asset & we are grateful for what she accomplished during this time; let’s celebrate her extraordinary contributions!

Why She Served

“I joined the medical advisory board of The Patty Brisben Foundation to support the foundation’s goal of improving awareness so that anyone suffering from low libido, or pelvic pain after pregnancy, surgery, cancer, or menopause can access the help they need.

There is a lack of research in sexual health.  As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I joined to critically review research grant applications to support the foundation’s goal of improving the lives of the highest number of women with high-quality research-supported evidence.”

After three decades spent supporting patients as a physical therapist, Dr. Novicki was determined to spread awareness on women’s health. Despite being one person with limited reach, she discovered The Patty Brisben Foundation – the perfect chance for her expertise to shine! Initially specializing in spinal disorders, it wasn’t until after welcoming children of her own that she realized pelvic wellness plays an essential role when recovering from pregnancy and healing from postpartum.

Dr. Novicki played a critical role in advancing and refining our Vaginal Dilator Set – collaborating with Patty and the Pure Romance Product Development team to help best serve women who need them. She emphasized, “The women I would see would have difficulty because they would be too small for their husbands, or had gynecological issues caused by things like chemotherapy, etc. They needed a set that allowed them to gradually progress in size.” Her insights allowed for just that; graduated sizes creating better experiences for women that used them.

More About Dr. Novicki

Kathleen Novicki, PT, DPT, PRPC, is the pioneer of pelvic health physical therapy in the greater Cincinnati area. A board-certified Pelvic Health Rehabilitation Professional, she has served on The University of Cincinnati and The College of Mt. St. Joseph’s Doctor of Physical Therapy programs, TriHealth and The Christ Hospital Fellowship Programs in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, and as an expert consultant for the feminine care division of P&G.

Driven by a commitment to meet an unmet need, she obtained her Master’s in Women’s Sexual Health from Texas Woman’s University. This specialization was entirely new, yet the demand for pelvic health expertise was high and so this inspired her full transition into serving others who were seeking medical attention in that area of care.
