WHY I SERVE
Sexual health can be reduced by pain, weakness, or stiffness in the pelvis, hips, or spine. There is a lack of awareness of the value of pelvic health physical therapy in improving a woman’s sexual health. I joined the medical advisory board of The Patty Brisben Foundation to support the foundation’s goal of improving awareness so that anyone suffering from low libido, or pelvic pain after pregnancy, surgery, cancer, or menopause can access the help they need.
There is a lack of research in sexual health. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I joined to critically review research grant applications to support the foundation’s goal of improving the lives of the highest number of women with high-quality research supported evidence.
