Study on estrogen responsiveness applied to the
vestibule area vs. vaginally

The Oregon Health & Science University strives to be the first to study an estrogen responsive pain treatment in the vestibule area, rather than vaginally. This study will also measure the safety of this novel treatment for women. Participants will be assigned blindly to one of two regimens of medication, one with estrogen and one without estrogen to place both in and around the entryway of the vagina.

Without their knowledge, the treatments given to the female participants will include both cream with estrogen and without. Following a two-week nightly treatment plan, they will be evaluated for improvement and see which placement of the cream was most effective – the vestibule vs. vaginal insertion.
